What is your current job/position?
President – Mike & Nick Sproule Const. w/MATT HELLER
What is your educational/professional background?
Graduate of Clarke College with a B.S. in Business Admin
20 Years at Alliant Energy -HR and Benefits Admin. (prior to joining Mike Sproule in our business)
What got you to where you are today?
Family & Strong Work Ethic. My parents instilled upon me at an early age, to work hard and always do your best. After marrying Mike, I continued to work hard with him at my side. Today, our son-in-law, Matt Heller and our daughter Anna Sproule-Heller work with us in the business which thankfully brings me to where I am today.
What made you choose this type of business?
I knew from a young age that I enjoyed doing paperwork, office technology, and being creative (marketing). I am a huge people person. Working in our Family Construction business was a natural fit for me. It is a business where I get to talk on the phone with customers and meet them in the office or onsite.
To what do you attribute your success?
Our Staff, Our Experience and Our Communication Skills! Our Staff becomes family. Treat them well and they will treat us well. The experience that our Company has spans over 45 years! We know the people, the area, the terrain, the history of past projects etc. We know what is going to work and what is not going to work. We can share our past experiences with customers to help them make their decisions on a project. Communication is “key” to all success, and we pride ourselves on good communication with our Customers. Keeping them in the know is very important.
What are your company’s goals?
Our Goals are to continue doing what we do! We do it well and will continue to be here for many years to come! A next generation of three grandchildren may be in store to carry on. The Biggest Goal is continuing to keep each and every customer HAPPY!
What makes you unique?
We are unique in that this is a Woman Owned Business. We are also a “START TO FINISH” construction Company.
What makes you or your business any different from all the rest?
FAMILY OWNED And OPERATED FOR OVER 60 YEARS!
What service(s) or product(s) do you offer?
Commercial and Residential: Excavation, Concrete, Septic Pumping/Repair, Water/Sewer Lines, Retaining walls, Trucking, Pond Building and more!
What does your company do to help the community?
Our Company is big into “paying it back”. We do Volunteer Work and support monetarily within the community: ARC of Galena, Country Fair, Church, Elk’s, Booster Club, Food Pantry, and many more.. We have organized and helped Families with working on Cancer Fundraisers, etc. There is no better feeling than giving back to our Community.
If you had to give three pieces of advice to someone just starting out, what would they be?
Work Hard, Be Honest, Customer is Always Right!
